Maximum respect for Archives records and your support of Bristol musicians and Artists.

I particularly like the interviews conducted by Alex Carter. I would recommend Alex interviews people like Tony Forbes, AKA Tony Ray, Amjah band, Israel. Tony has a web site on My Space. Tony led one of the earliest, most succesful resident bands, The Lerks, in the very early days of the Bamboo Club; the club, mentioned by many of the artists and individuals interviewed.

Lennox and Winston, lead singers for the Lerks, still perform and are regularly in Bristol. Larry the lead guitarists for the Lerks, was Hendrix. before Hendrix. One of the greatest guitarist's ever. The keyboard player, Lerks, Junior, AKA, Dread, was an unbelievably briliant muscian. Interviews with members of the Lerks, Basil's band, etc would be enlightning as to that era and the great musical talent we had in Bristol then.

Basil, mentioned by Bunny Marret, is Basil Russel. Basil has a page on facebook. Basil and Gersham, the band mentioned by Bunny, can give insight to bands like the Lerks, Atlantic Rollers, etc. Ronald Green is still in Bristol.

Ajax, would be interesting to interview as he and Tarzan were the early sound system men. Tarzan's son's Roy and Sebastian, "Karl," would be interesting to talk to.

The essence of the "Blues," our house party''s of that era...it would be great to try and capture the experience of those who regularly attended.

We also had businessmen with strong connections to Bristol, such as Harry Palmer, owner of Parma Records, Clubs and Jet Star, at one time Englands biggest, reggae records ditribution company. Parma also recorded and promoted some of our greats such as Alton Ellis...etc during that era and onwards.

Also, in Bristol the owner of the RCA record shop in Picton street would be interesting to hear from.

Keep up the good work.

I loved the bamboo
in '72
'though I took my joy
With the heart of a boy
I was welcomed there
And thank you still
For forgiving my innocence
My crazy dancing
Sweet memories!
