I remember Steppin' Out! I saw them perform at The Hat And Feather in Bath and other places. I still have recordings that they did. They were Clive Williamson on thunderous drums, Phil Harris guitar & lead vocal, Steve Street bass. A great originals band. I had the pleasure of later playing alongside Phil in Bedminster band The Cult (before that other band appeared with that name) which was fronted by Ken Wagland, 1970's landlord of The Windmill pub. My guitaring wasn't up to much alongside Phil but we had a great time and were much appreciated for our lively performances!

Hello! How cool is this site and your amazing record of gigs and bands...I was gigging in Bristol from around 1976 (I couldn't get in to see Madness so my sister left me outside all night and I danced on the pavement with the other 14 year olds).
I saw Portishead, Art Objects (Jon Joe was a mate), Joe Public, Only Ones, Total Abusic (boyfriend was guitarist!), X Ray Spex, Clash, Ramones, Stringrays, Untouchables, etc etc.
I really want to see The Stonehouse again, don't suppose you have any photos of the exterior or interior knocking about?
I loved that place.
Nostalgia eh?
Thank you!

Hi,

am I right in saying that he's the guy who played with Tears for Fears on the Big Chair tour before Alan Griffiths, another Bristol musician (and another one who's no longer with us) took his place?

The reason I'm asking is because I find very little information on him, and his name seems to vary between Sanders and Saunders from release to release, and from article to article. I'd like things to be consistent and correct on Wikipedia and Discogs.

Regards
Jules
